About the Language
Czech is a West Slavic language related to Slovak and Polish, with over 11 million native speakers in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as in emigrant communities. It is the official language of the Czech Republic and a recognized minority language in Slovakia. The language began to become distinct from Proto-Slavic in the 10th century.
