About the Language
Arabic is spoken by over 250 million people in the Middle East, across northern Africa, and in much of southwestern Asia. While Modern Arabic is written the same everywhere, many regional spoken dialects have developed, some of which diverge so widely that they might be considered separate languages. Nonetheless, speakers from different parts of the Arab world can often understand each other, particularly if they come from similar educational or cultural backgrounds.
Additional Courses Available through Audio-Forum®:
* FSI: Reading Modern Written Arabic (Level 1)
* FSI: Reading Modern Written Arabic (Level 2)
* FSI: Levantine Arabic Pronunciation (Level 1)
* FSI: Iraqi Dialect Orientation Course (Level 1)
