The Course Used by Diplomats

Learn Arabic the proven way—just like a diplomat!

Over the years, Audio Forum® customers have successfully used our courses to learn Arabic entirely on their own—in as little as 25 minutes a day. You'll be amazed at how easy it is to achieve fluency in Arabic using this proven audio/text method.

The Arabic language encompasses various colloquial dialects, plus a literary standard known as Modern Written Arabic, which functions as the official language of newspapers, radio, television, and academia. This course gives a thorough grounding in Modern Written Arabic, focusing on newspapers, editorials, essays, books, and periodicals. Please Note: This program is intended for those who have already learned the Arabic writing system and have reasonably accurate Arabic pronunciation.

* 6.5 hours of audio, 32 lessons (units)
* 385-page text
* Course is entirely in Arabic, with notes in English
* Modern written Arabic style (not Classical or medieval)
* Basic and supplementary sentences
* Master vocabulary through syntax patterns
* Understanding nouns, adjectives, and verbs
* Foundation to read newspapers, books, and periodicals
* Grammatical notes and explanations
* Reading selections and comprehension

The U.S. State Department's Foreign Service Institute developed full-length courses specifically for diplomats, the very people who must learn a language quickly and effectively. Having worked with FSI authors and instructors, these courses have been fully tested through usage before release to the public. For over 40 years, Audio-Forum® has been the original and most trusted source for Foreign Service Institute language courses.

About the Language
Arabic is spoken by over 250 million people in the Middle East, across northern Africa, and in much of southwestern Asia. While Modern Arabic is written the same everywhere, many regional spoken dialects have developed, some of which diverge so widely that they might be considered separate languages. Nonetheless, speakers from different parts of the Arab world can often understand each other, particularly if they come from similar educational or cultural backgrounds.

Enhanced PDF Features
The Audio-Forum® Difference: Audio-Forum® PDF books are enhanced with links to MP3 audio files. Speaker icons in the text allow you to hear the corresponding audio. The MP3 files can also be loaded onto your MP3-compatible CD player or digital media player. The PDF books may be read (without enhanced features) on tablet computers. A 10-inch or larger screen is recommended.
