About the Language
Bulgarian is a member of the Southern branch of the Slavic language family. It is spoken natively by over 9 million people in many parts of Europe, including Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Greece, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Albania, Kosovo, and the Republic of Macedonia. Several characteristics set Bulgarian apart from all other Slavic languages: the lack of a verb infinitive, the development of a suffixed definite article, and the elimination of case declension.
