About the Language
Hungarian belongs to the Ugric branch of the Uralic language family. Based on the number of native speakers, it is the most widely spoken non-Indo-European language in Europe, with about 15 million native speakers. It is the official language of Hungary and a recognized minority language in the neighboring countries of Austria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.
